Top 5 Must Haves for Singles!

Hey Single Squad!! I know that during this time we are all making lifestyle adjustments and creating our “new normal”. This would be the perfect time to get back to the basics of the single life. As singles, we often let our precious time slip away by either focusing on things that aren’t serving us or improving our lives, or letting entertainment take it. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a little Netflix or Hulu. But when it’s taking away six or more hours of your day and hasn’t put anything back into you, it maybe time to let it go a bit. We want lives that are joyful and fulfilled and not filled with fluff. We deserve better. So, let’s get down to the basics of some must haves to have a thriving and enjoyable single life.

A sacred place for prayer and meditation. Spiritual and mental health is of the upmost importance right now. A great way to start your day is with prayer and meditation. Having a dedicated space lets your body and mind know that this where I go to get filled up with positivity and release negativity. It is a safe space for healing and growth. It doesn’t have to be a room or huge space. I use a corner in my office that has comfortable pillows for me to lean and sit on along with my journals and devotional. Where could you create this space just for you?

A journal for gratefulness. Sometimes it is easy to feel lonely and down especially if that is all that you are focusing on. A great way to combat that is to start your day by listing five things that you are grateful for. Journaling them out will give you the opportunity to look back on all of the great things that are going on in your life and bring a smile to your face. Gratefulness is a great mood booster and adjusts your view of your life. Will you try it for a week?

A daily affirmation. You can use affirmations to speak positivity and truth into your life and change damaging and limiting beliefs. There is something so powerful about hearing and declaring truth to yourself. When we listen to what we are saying, it gets down into our hearts and stirs up a change. That’s why we have to speak life into our situations. How do you want your life to look? Write out an affirmation for it and recite it to yourself in the morning every day. If you are unclear what to write, you can purchase my affirmations for singles at https://payhip.com/b/DsBY.

Goals that you are working on. One great way of building confidence is achieving your goals. Since we spend a lot of time at home these days, it is a great opportunity to create goals for personal development, financial stability, and physical health. When you meet someone, what do you want your life to already look like? Remember, when we are in relationships, we are there to add value to each other not take away. Have fun setting and achieving your goals. This is all about building you up and helping you to be the best you that you can be. What goals will you set?

A night-time routine. Right about now I know that we all could do way better with our sleep hygiene. If we want to be our best self and give our best, we have to rest and get replenished. Your bed is for sleeping so there should be no internet surfing or checking social media in the bed. Give your mind time to wind down and also for your body to know that its time to go to sleep. Need help winding down? Try reading a book that is not electronic or chamomile tea. This would also be a good time to journal to unwind from the day so that your mind is clear before you go to sleep.

I hope that these ideas have helped you and allowed you to look at your singleness in a different way. Don’t forget to check out my 5-day challenge, “Are You Ready?
